Onda Body Contouring

Introduction

An Onda treatment revolutionises body contouring using Coolwaves microwave energy to reduce fat and cellulite and tighten skin. This recent innovative technology from Europe’s number one laser and aesthetic device manufacturer, Deka, is now available in Australia.

Description

Onda’s Coolwaves penetrate deeper than other non-surgical treatments to target small areas of fat such as the stomach, love handles, thighs and upper arms.
Onda achieves effective results in just 3-4 treatments with no downtime or surgery required.
Onda’s smart handpieces are specially designed to emit Coolwaves in a controlled fashion, focusing energy only where it is needed (in the subcutaneous adipose tissue), preserving the surrounding tissue.  The ergonomic handpieces have been designed to optimise effectiveness and handling for different body areas including the abdomen, knees, hips, buttocks and arms.

Benefits and Applications

Not everyone wants to undergo surgery or liposuction.  Onda is a quick, effective way to target small areas of fat while tightening the surrounding skin.  An area of 15cm x 15cm can be treated in about 15 minutes and the results start to be seen after just two or three treatments. The treatments are comfortable and have no down time associated.

Preparation

Comfortable clothing should be worn to the appointment. A lubricating oil is used during the treatment and to avoid soiling special clothing, it is advised that you wear something appropriately casual.

Procedure

Photos and measurements are taken. The procedure area is marked out with the patient’s involvement. The two handpieces differ in their depth of action, each designed for different body areas and depths of fat. The contact skin cooling system is integrated into the handpieces continually cooling the skin to counterbalance the heat produced by the Coolwaves in the deeper fat layers. The skin’s surface is protected, ensuring total patient comfort and avoiding any side effects and inflammation. Onda simultaneously targets fat, tightens loose skin and improves cellulite.

An Onda treatment is able to specifically target fat – the Coolwaves penetrate deeply through the skin selectively disrupting the membranes of subcutaneous fat cells. The reduced fat is then drained off by the lymphatic system during one’s normal physiological metabolic processes.

An Onda treatment is able to specifically targeting Cellulite – the Coolwaves effectively break down the connective tissue between the adipose lobules reducing the irregular, uneven appearance.

An Onda treatment is able to specifically tightening skin – the Coolwaves induce an immediate shrinkage of the collagen fibres in the dermis and stimulate the production of new collagen, making the tissue more compact and toned.

Aftercare

After the procedure you will feel a warmth in the skin which can last for a few hours. Some people experience a mild discomfort for a day – a feeling of the area having been treated rather than pain in any way. This should not last long. Mild swelling can occur and resolves quickly. Moisturiser can be massaged into the skin after the treatment.

Down time

There is no downtime associated with this treatment.

Risks

Very rarely someone can get any adverse effects from this treatment. The biggest risk is that the fat will not respond as well as you hope.
You cannot treat over a metal implant or a pace maker.

Cost

The cost of treating a 15cm by 15cm area is $250. Two areas cost $450 and four areas cost $800.
